The NFC Smart ring can be used to unlock your phone, open a NFC enabled door lock, or share a url/contact details with someone. Embedded within the titanium ring band are two NXP NTAG203 tags (one for public sharing and the other for private details) whose actions can be managed either using a mobile app orweb dashboard.
Surrounding the NFC tags are a few additional layers of technology. An inner inlay layer is made up of an RFID reflective material designed to amplify the readability of the tag and help mitigate the interference caused by the surrounding metal. An outer inlay was added to help control security risks for the private tag and keep the information from being exposed by powerful reader antennas without your consent.
