MIFARE® DESFire® is desiging for combing and supporting multiple applications on one card. MIFARE DESFire EV1 with a Unique 7 byte UID and on-chip backup management system. It is also ISO/IEC 14443 A 1-4 compliant. The latest addition to the MIFARE DESFire family is the second evolution MIFARE DESFire EV2, this further increases flexibility and can hold as many different applications as the memory size supports. MIFARE DESFire EV2 also supports the addition of applications after the card has been deployed to the market and offers an increased operating distance. Typical applications for MIFARE DESFire include: transport, access control, leisure, e-government and loyalty. NXP MIFARE DESFire EV1 RFID smart card
The MIFARE® DESFire family is based on open global standards for both RF interface and cryptographic methods. The highly secure microcontroller-based ICs main characteristics are denoted by its name DESFire – The “DES” in the name refers to the use of DES, 2K3DES, 3K3DES and AES hardware cryptographic engine for securing transmission data.
The MIFARE DESFire® family consists of MIFARE DESFire EV1 and MIFARE DESFire EV2 products and is ideally suited for solution developers and system operators building reliable, interoperable and scalable contactless smart card solutions. It targets multi-application smart card solutions in identity, access, loyalty and micro-payment applications as well as in transport schemes. MIFARE DESFire fully complies with the requirements for fast and highly secure data transmission, flexible memory organization and is interoperable with existing contactless infrastructures.
