Customized RFID gate opener stickers use passive technology and are encased in thin layers of polypropylene. One side has printing that people can read, and the other side has an adhesive that will stick to a windshield. The RFID Windshield Tag is different from other Customized Windshield Tags on the market because it uses passive RFID UHF technology instead of the more expensive active windshield tags. The special inlay is made of thin layers of polyester. It can be read through or on a glass windshield without a standoff. At no extra cost, there is also a tamper-evident option with slits in the label and adhesive layers in the right places.

Specialty RFID labels use sub-surface printing, in which the printed material is covered to protect it. To get the copy off of a label, the label would have to be destroyed.
